The story of Madre begins from a historic vineyard, where father Italo was born.
An elegant grape that in its simplicity and naturalness has revealed a new face to us, rich in flavors and aromas.

A different path, which we decided to take to obtain a wine outside the box and the rules.
A long journey in which we found the right balance, from the vineyard to the rest in the cellar where time makes it perfect to be appreciated.
A glass with an ancient and deep color that makes us feel at home.

A wine of great longevity, it offers a good harmony with olfactory sensations that find the right home in a balanced acidity, accompanied by an enveloping softness.
Nothing is left to chance in dressing this particular bottle.

The label, simple and clean, expresses the idea of a hug with a raised graphic sign.

On the nose it is elegant and generous with great olfactory expressiveness reflecting its paternity.

The aromas of yellow peach, acacia, cedar peel and aromatic herbs which later, with aging, give way to mineral and salty notes.
On the palate it represents great vitality, elegant and lively with an exhilarating freshness.

The Territory

Veneto, located in northeastern Italy, is renowned for its extraordinary history, breathtaking landscapes and exquisite food and wine traditions. Veneto cuisine and wines are appreciated throughout the world and reflect the cultural and territorial diversity of the region.

Veneto is famous for its fascinating historical cities such as Venice, Verona and Padua, which are home to countless works of art and architectural treasures. Venice, the city of canals and palaces, is considered one of the most romantic and fascinating destinations, while Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, is famous for its Roman amphitheatre and opera performances. Padua, with its historic University and the Scrovegni Chapel, offers a wide range of cultural attractions.

The Veneto region is known for its excellent wine production, which includes famous wines such as Prosecco, Valpolicella and Soave. Piave is the name of a DOC wine produced in the provinces of Treviso and Venice around the lower course of the Piave. The vineyards of Veneto extend from the hills of Treviso, Vicenza and Verona to the plains of the Po.

Venetian cuisine is equally varied and delicious, with fish and seafood dishes along the coast and in the Venetian Lagoon, and more robust meat and vegetable recipes inland. Some of the region's signature dishes include risotto, bigoli (egg pasta), polenta, and baccalà alla vicentina.

The Pedemontana Veneta area is undoubtedly the most authentic expression of the typicality and richness of the region's food and wine heritage.

153 typical areas within a 5 km radius of the new Pedemontana Veneta highway. Among these, 9 DOP products, 5 IGP, 4 DOCG wines, 8 DOC, 4 IGT, 119 traditional agri-food products and 4 Slow Food presidia stand out. The Pedemontana Veneta offers a wide range of high-quality wines, cheeses, vegetables, cured meats and delicacies, including, to name a few, Asiago DOP, Morlacco and Imbriago cheeses, Grappa and fruit distillates, Sopressa DOP, stone-ground flours from ancient cereals (Mulino Terrevive), Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP which, with the denomination "Conca degli Ulivi" produced (Oro de Poè) in small but very precious quantities, boasts prizes and awards in prestigious international competitions. Prosecco DOCG of Valdobbiadene and Asolo. In addition to the aforementioned Prosecco, appreciated and exported throughout the world, in recent years, native vines that had been forgotten have been re-evaluated, among which the Recantina and the Rabbiosa dei colli Asolani (Pat del Colmel) stand out.

Once called “Rabbioso” or “vino del Piave”, Raboso is a native red grape variety from Veneto with a thousand-year history (Italo Cescon). It is a great Italian red wine with a clear identity well-rooted in the territory of the Piave, which today wants to regain a prestigious position among the great Italian wines.

Let yourself be won over by the quality and tradition of the artisan producers we have selected for you, producers who best express the authenticity and richness of this wonderful region.

The Producer

In 1957, about 30 km from Treviso, the history of our company came to life thanks to the intuition and courage of our beloved founder, Italo Cescon.

From that moment on, the passion for wine has become the lifeblood that has fueled our lives, we children - Gloria, Graziella and Domenico - together with our dear mother Chiara, custodians of the memories and secrets of a family that has made viticulture its mission. We are located in the production area of the DOC Piave, between the Treviso hills and Friuli, with Montello to the north and the Venetian lagoon to the south, along the axis of the Piave river.

This story actually begins a few years before 1957, when Italo Cescon, just returned from military service in 1954, decided to follow in his grandfather Domenico's footsteps, starting the production of wine in the small cellar "Enoteca Italo Cescon". From the beginning, we stood out for the exclusive sale of bottled wine, with hand-written straw paper labels and the characteristic Tralcetto, a symbol born from a spontaneous gesture, tying a knotty stick to the neck of the bottle. In 1967, after the flood of 1966, we moved to the current headquarters of the company in Roncadelle (Treviso), to be able to expand logistics and production.

The 70s saw our wines conquer European markets, from Rome to Milan, from Germany to Switzerland and France, thanks to our father's entrepreneurial vision.

The 1980s marked the peak of our production, with the launch of the "La Cesura" line, which brought important international recognition thanks to wines such as Raboso DOC Piave and Manzoni Bianco 6.0.13.

In the 90s, we of the third generation Gloria, Graziella and Domenico, continued with enthusiasm and innovation the legacy of our family. We renewed the Italo Cescon brand in 2006, maintaining its historicity but adapting it to the needs of modern consumers.

In 2008, we planted the first vine of Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13 in the new Fagarè estate, a few kilometers from Treviso, constantly investing in new vineyards, research and experimentation. For us, making wine is not just a job, it is our vocation. We feel called to share what we have created because together we have given a voice to our greatest passion.

In our wines you will find the full expression of the flavours of our land that reveal the life of a project carried out with love and dedication. The bond between land and vineyard is the first step in giving a wine its own character. Protecting the vineyard and the land on which it rests is our duty. If on the plant the bunches of grapes have everything they need to ripen, in the cellar they find the space to evolve their maximum personality, thanks to special processes and time. As Italo Cescon said, "Every wine has a secret soul. You will search for it with effort and you will reveal it only with love".

It is the union of the individual parts that creates something bigger. Starting from this assumption, we have refined each step over the years to get closer and closer to the best result. The grape is our starting point, the attention to detail that makes the flavor of each of our wines unique. We take care of our organic vineyards respecting their natural cycles and in an eco-sustainable way.

Biodiversity is the true wealth of our lands, and it is precisely thanks to this balance and the mutual relationships of these plant species that we are able to obtain genuine products. To enrich the soil of our lands we use the ancient technique of green manure, an effective and natural method to amplify the fertility of the vineyard. This method studied and refined during our experience represents us and our winery, we have defined our path, personal and unique, like our wines.

Today the Italo Cescon winery has 120 hectares of vineyards: 80 hectares in south-eastern Veneto (of which approximately 20 hectares are owned), 15 hectares in Friuli Venezia Giulia and 15 hectares on the hills of Valdobbiadene.
