Merlot is a black grape variety native to the Bordeaux area of France that owes its name to the blackbird's particular predilection for its berries. It has been widespread in Italy, mainly in Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia since the nineteenth century. It prefers fresh soils with good humidity and our alluvial vineyards along the banks of the Piave river constitute the ideal environment for its ripening. Our Merlot Veneto IGT “Il Tralcetto”, which we grant a precious aging of 9 months in French oak barrels, is a red wine with an intense color with notable purple reflections and a dry, tannic and soft flavor, easy to drink. A great harmony supported by a noble tannin and a pleasant freshness bring back memories of cherry, currant and liquorice to the palate, which linger for a long time with a gentle softness. Recommended with first courses with meat ragù, duck à l'orange, roast veal, semi-hard cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18/20° C, in square glasses.
