Raboso del Piave DOC
The Product in Brief:
Raboso del Piave is a native red grape variety of very ancient origins, typical of Eastern Veneto, where it has been cultivated since the seventeenth century and which takes its name from the adjective “rabiosa”, once used to define this grape with a strong character and a slightly sour taste and a rather late harvest towards the end of October. The forefather of the entire Il tralcetto range, our Raboso Doc Piave “Il tralcetto” is the spokesperson of our bond with the territory in which our company has always been located, along the banks of the Piave River and on the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia. On the palate and to the eye it reveals its long aging in oak barrels which give it a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections accompanied by a dry taste of notable consistency.Intense, exuberant aroma, with fresh and spicy hints, distinctly fruity, with notes of morello cherry and berries above all. Dry taste, with a firm body, a marked acidity and tannicity emerge, balanced by warm and soft notes, given by the wood, spices and vanilla. Ideal with roast red meat, game and hard cheeses, among all “l'ubriaco del Piave.” Serve at a temperature of 18° C, in square glasses.
